In the United States, GMO crops make up a majority of our agriculture.
More than 40 species of plants have been genetically modified. As much as 94 percent of soybeans and 88 percent of corn grown in the U.S. is of the genetically engineered variety. Genetically modified crops covered more than 169 million acres—that’s half of the country’s total farmland.
