Bougie Beverages On a Budget: How to Make an Iced Matcha, Mocktail & More

Even if you’re watching your spending when it comes to eating out, those daily beverage indulgences start to add up — the latte in the morning, the smoothie before your workout, the cocktails with friends after work. 

If you’re on a budget but still want to indulge in your favorite bougie beverages, making them at home is easier than you might think. Here are a few of our favorite mocktail recipes, superfood smoothies, homemade iced lattes, and even instructions for the best way to make iced matcha (without the coffee shop price tag!) 

Tahini Honeycomb Iced Latte Recipe

Yield: 1 latte
Active time: 5 minutes
Ingredients: 

1 cup cold brew
1-2 tablespoons tahini (depending on desired nuttiness)
1 ½ tablespoons honey
⅛ teaspoon salt (or 1 pinch of sea salt)
½ teaspoon vanilla
Collagen powder (optional)

Instructions:

Add all ingredients to a glass and blend together with a handheld electric whisk. 

Pour over ice and mix well with a straw.

Optionally, top with bee pollen and a sprig of mint.

Sip and enjoy! 


Iced Matcha Latte Recipe

Yield: 1 serving
Active Time: 3 minutes

Ingredients: 

2 ½ teaspoons ceremonial matcha powder
2 teaspoons coconut oil
2 teaspoons honey
½ cup coconut milk or almond milk

Instructions:

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until creamy, frothy, and smooth. 

Serve over ice and enjoy! 


Pineapple Mojito Mocktail Recipe 

Yield: 1 mocktail
Active time: 5 minutes 

Ingredients: 

8 mint leaves
½ ounces lime juice
2 jalapeno slices
2 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces coconut water
Sparkling water

Instructions: 

Muddle mint leaves, lime juice, and jalapeno slices in a glass. 

Top with the remaining liquids, add ice, and give it all a stir. 

Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a pineapple wedge. 

Sip and enjoy! 


Maca Superfood Smoothie Recipe

Yield: 1 smoothie 
Active time: 5 minutes 

Ingredients: 

2 tablespoons maca powder
1 tablespoon cacao nibs
½ tablespoon hemp hearts
½ tablespoon goji berries
1 tablespoon almond butter
2 medjool dates
½ cup almond milk
¼ cup iced coffee
½ cup ice

Instructions: 

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and creamy. 

Sip and enjoy!
